Embrace the healing touch of nature with this exceptional honey, perfect for alleviating a variety of skin conditions for you and bub.  It works wonders on thick, scaling skin that can appear on various places on the body including the scalp and other oily areas, while also soothing itching, redness, and rashes like eczema and dermatitis. This honey is also a beloved natural antimicrobial for treating minor cuts and abrasions which can be incurred through many of life's journeys including child birth, friction burns and school yard slips trips and falls.

When combined with sorbolene cream, this honey becomes a delightful topical treatment that isn’t as sticky as you might expect. The sorbolene cream acts as an effective carrier, allowing the honey to be deeply absorbed into the skin's pores. While a slight sticky residue may remain on the surface, it is very manageable and can be easily washed off after a couple of hours if needed. Let Mother Nature nurture your skin with this gentle and effective remedy.

This jar provides approximately 38 treatments.

Thick scaling areas of skin, relieving skin prickliness & redness : Mix 5ml of Jarrah TA25+ honey with 2.5ml of sorbolene cream (i.e. 2:1 ratio) in the small mixing cup provided. Liberally apply this honey sorbolene mixture over the affected area and leave on for as long as possible before washing off - preferably two hours or more. Mix each honey/cream lotion fresh moments (i.e. do not mix in advance/bulk). Wash the applicator and small mixing cup in warm soapy water and let air dry. Apply daily until symptoms improve.

Treating minor cuts & abrasions: Apply pure/straight Jarrah TA25+ honey to the wound/irritation and cover with a dressing or loose breathable clothing and leave on for as long as possible before washing off - preferably two hours or more. Apply daily until symptoms improve.

How quickly can I expect a perineum cut or abrasion to heal?

A mild abrasion or cut can heal as quickly as a few days.

For perineum cuts and abrasions, should I mix the honey with sorbolene cream?

We recommend first trialing the honey neat (i.e. not mixed with sorbolene cream). But if you're requiring lubrication to prevent rubbing while walking, mixing 50:50 with sorbolene cream is an option.

Why is this honey good for skin scaling on baby's scalp?

The exact cause of skin scaling is not known. Its likely due to a combination of things. Too much skin oil (sebum) in the oil glands and hair follicles and a type of yeast found on the skin called Malassezia. This honey contains enzymes that produce natural forms of hydrogen peroxide when they come into contact moisture, such as the moisture on the surface of the skin. These enzymes help to reduce skin scaling whilst being gentle on the skin.

Does baby need to wear a beanie after applying the honey and sorbolene cream mixture?

Whilst not necessary to achieve success, a beanie is a convenient way to prevent the sticky reside from transferring onto other surfaces.

What's the best way to wash the honey off baby's scalp?

Simply rinsing with warm water is enough. Some parents use the bristles of a super soft toothbrush in circular motion to speed up the process.

What's the best way to apply this honey for red prickling rashes in the nappy area?

We recommend applying a 2 part honey to 1 part sorbolene mixture and applying to the skin. The sorbolene cream can be replaced with your preferred lotion/cream.
