FAQ

How quickly can I expect a perineum tear to heal?

A typical second-degree tear (e.g. requiring stiches) can heal as quickly as 1-2 weeks with applying this honey. Healing time for a fourth-degree tear could be reduced to only 3 weeks with this honey.

For perineum tears, should I mix the honey with sorbolene cream?

We recommend first trialling the honey neat (i.e. not mixed with sorbolene cream). But if you're requiring lubrication to prevent rubbing while walking, mixing 50:50 with sorbolene cream is an option.

Why is this honey good for baby's cradle cap?

The exact cause of cradle cap is not known. Its likely due to a combination of things. Too much skin oil (sebum) in the oil glands and hair follicles and a type of yeast found on the skin called Malassezia. This honey contains enzymes that produce natural forms of hydrogen peroxide when they come into contact with the skin. These enzyme breakdown the yeast build up whilst being gentle on the skin.

Does baby need to wear a beanie after applying the honey and sorbolene cream mixture?

Whilst not necessary to achieve success, a beanie is a convenient way to prevent the stickiness transferring onto other surfaces. The warmth produced by the scalp may also speed up the loosening process.

What's the best way to wash the honey off baby's scalp?

Simply rinsing with warm water is enough. Some parents use the bristles of a super soft toothbrush in circular motion to speed up the process.

What's the best way to apply this honey for nappy rash?

We recommend applying a 2 part honey to 1 part sorbolene mixture which will carry the healing benefits of the honey deep into baby's inflamed skin. The sorbolene cream can be replaced with your preferred lotion/cream.

Chronic skin irritation

I had a fungal infection. It was insanely itchy and I tried many treatments over months. Eventually, cortisone cream and anti fungal made it bearable, but it still flared up on occasions, in summer. Having endured for the best part of a year, I saw this honey on instagram. I thought I would try one of the sachets. After doing some investigating, I settled on the jarrah +35. The product arrived promptly and I used as directed, applied nightly, with sorbolene cream to the affected area. It took a couple of days for me to notice a difference, but it improved daily. Now, after 10 days of application I have no trace of the fungal infection, no discomfort and I sleep through the night, not waking up to itching. I highly recommend this product for any skin infections or irritations.
